The Arts Factory gallery and Serious Publishing are joining forces to publish the first major monograph dedicated to Javier Mayoral, better known to the many aficionados of his Instagram account under the pseudonym Pulpbrother. Born in the north of Spain in 1961, this former private chef, impresario of absolute coolness, emigrated to the United States at the age of 28 before settling permanently in Miami in 2004.

As a self-taught painter, he then spread his art of living via small acrylics on wood, inspired by the tradition of Mexican ex-votos and popular culture of the 20th century. Between ultra-lounge evenings, surreal barbecues, torrid eroticism and improbable road trips, a whole gallery of indescribable characters parades, most often flanked by their equally priceless pets. Through comical situations, the average American raves about the joys of modern comfort, the desperate housewives converse with Jean-Paul Sartre and the King himself comes to bless the suburban homes.

The book Easy Living with Pulpbrother offers with 250 works reproduced in their original size, a broad panorama of the artist's production around ten thematic chapters: Fooding, Drinking, Playing, Learning, Listening, Traveling, Dressing, Sexting. .. are all invitations to share the precepts of a certain form of hedonism, while enjoying your favorite cocktail comfortably nestled in a club chair!

Book launch in the presence of the artist on Wednesday June 19, 2024
for the opening of his solo show at the Arts Factory Gallery, Paris, France
